Biographical Info

Built in 1985 on the historic site of our City’s first school, the Tulare Historical Museum provides its guests with a glimpse back through Tulare’s fascinating past. Beginning with the Yokuts Indians, to the arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad and beyond, visitors are treated to an experience that brings them full circle in Tulare’s historic growth and development as a community. From Olympic champions, historic aviators, and military leaders, to descendants of the pioneering Donner Party, the Tulare Historical Museum is a “must see” destination for those who love history. Our museum is also the home to one of the State’s premier military collections. The Manuel Toledo Collection showcases uniforms and artifacts from our nation’s conflicts starting with the American Revolution.
